Maryland: A Hotspot for UFO Sightings with a Rich History
Maryland has garnered attention as a potential hotspot for UFO activity, with nearly 2,000 sightings of peculiar objects in the sky reported since the mid-1990s. The residents of this eighth-smallest state have described sightings of various types of crafts, including a “flat bottom black triangle” with green lights, a classic flying saucer, and an oval-shaped stationary craft. Interestingly, the first recorded sighting in Maryland dates back to May 15, 1946, although it wasn’t reported until June 2017. In recent years, sightings are being reported to a database within days, such as the glowing “orbs” witnessed above Ocean City in April.
Until recently, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) advised against reporting unexplained aerial phenomena (UAP) or UFOs, directing individuals to submit their sightings to the National UFO Reporting Center (NUFORC) instead. However, the official stance of the FAA has faced criticism, with some considering it illogical and discriminatory. In a notable shift, NASA’s UAP advisory panel now recommends that the FAA include public UFO and UAP sightings in its Aviation Safety Reporting System. Multiple electric blue lights, arranged in a tight triangular formation, were observed hovering over a backyard in Baltimore. The witness captured a video of the sighting, noting that the lights moved slowly across the sky. Although the witness described seeing at least 10 lights, the video only shows eight or nine. Notably, the lights did not resemble stars, as they twinkled in the distance, and no other stars were visible in the night sky. The lights moved in unison, supporting the witness’s description.
Case 2 – Brunswick, Maryland (July 4, 2023)
During a fireworks display on Independence Day, witnesses at an apartment complex in Brunswick noticed a pair of blinking lights, seemingly connected to each other, gliding across the sky. The lights moved quickly, displayed synchronization, and emitted no sound or trails. The witnesses ruled out fireworks, planes, or helicopters as possible explanations. The objects seemed relatively close and smaller than known aircraft. The witnesses captured the event on video, demonstrating the consistent flight pattern between the two lights.
Case 3 – Perryville, Maryland (March 19, 2023)
A driver near Jackson Station Road reported observing a flat-bottom black triangle-shaped craft flying low to the ground, accompanied by a low wooshing sound. The witness rolled down their car window, confirming the sound and noticing the slow movement of the craft. Each point of the triangular craft emitted a green light. While the witness managed to capture a blurry picture, they had to continue driving when a car pulled up behind them.
Case 4 – Rockville, Maryland (November 7, 2022)
In Rockville, just north of Washington DC, a witness spotted a classic flying saucer-shaped craft with a black marking in the front. The object moved very slowly and seemed relatively low in the sky. The witness managed to take photos and videos of the UFO, which resembled the iconic flying saucer commonly associated with mid-20th century UFO sightings. After approximately 30 seconds, the craft vanished.
