Although I adored Garten’s original cosmo, I must admit that her new recipe is my preference. The addition of fresh watermelon juice as a mixer for vodka and Cointreau adds the sweetness and brightness I always crave in a refreshing summer cocktail. The lime juice also enhances the overall flavor. It’s extremely invigorating and incredibly easy to consume.
I prepared these cosmos while on a trip with my boyfriend and his family, and they were an instant hit.
“It’s everything you desire in a summer cocktail,” his sister Julia remarked. “The watermelon juice provides freshness, and the vibrant color is so striking that it almost seems artificial.”
