Blanket Jackson, now known as Bigi, and his brother Prince Jackson recently attended an event in Las Vegas to commemorate their late father’s birthday. The King of Pop would have turned 65 on that day.
Bigi and Prince were spotted at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, where Cirque du Soleil’s “Michael Jackson ONE” show is performed. There was a public Q&A session held for the “Blue Sapphire Birthday Celebration” organized by Jackson’s estate, as mentioned by the resort.
Jackson’s 65th birthday coincided with the 10th anniversary of the “ONE” Vegas residency, a spectacular show blending music and acrobatics. The announcement for this show was made back in February 2013.
Jackson’s children, now grown up, prefer to maintain a private lifestyle. However, in 2018, his daughter Paris Jackson was present at Mandalay Bay for her father’s 60th birthday celebration, known as the “Michael Jackson Diamond Birthday Celebration.” During the event, she accepted the Elizabeth Taylor Legacy Award on behalf of her father’s humanitarian work with the Elizabeth Taylor AIDS Foundation.
Paris, aged 25, shared a video on Instagram in which she mentioned that her father didn’t appreciate excessive attention on his birthday. According to her, he disliked people making a fuss about it.
“Back when he was alive, he used to hate anybody acknowledging his birthday, wishing him a happy birthday, celebrating it, nothing like that,” Paris shared in the video.
Additionally, Paris revealed that she has faced harassment from her father’s fans in the past for not posting on social media on his birthday.
“There have been times where I don’t post anything for my dad’s birthday, and people lose their minds,” she said. “And they’re basically measuring my love for my own father based on what I post on Instagram.”
Paris also emphasized her father’s interests in environmental causes, animal rights, and activism, suggesting that honoring him on his birthday could involve engaging in activities related to these areas. She stated, “There’s always ways to get involved with raising awareness for climate change, doing so for the environment, animal rights, activism, these were things that he loved and he was very, very interested in. I can’t speak for him because, you know, I’m a different person and I don’t know, but I’m sure he would have loved that, and so if you want to pay homage and honor him on his birthday, that would be my suggestion.”
Michael Jackson tragically passed away in 2009 at the age of 50 due to an accidental drug overdose.
