Mastering the Visual Look Up Feature on iOS 17: Effortlessly Find Information

You may not be able to decipher every detail in your photos, but with Apple’s new iOS 17 feature, “Visual Look Up,” your iPhone can do just that. This innovative tool allows you to snap a picture and search for information about the various objects and scenes within the image. Whether it’s a famous landmark, a beautiful flower, an adorable animal, or a mouth-watering dish, ‘Visual Look Up’ can help you identify and learn more about it. But here’s the really cool part: ‘Visual Look Up’ can also recognize food in your photos and suggest related recipes. It can even search for sounds in your videos, like clapping. All you need is your camera and your curiosity, and Apple will take care of the rest.

To use ‘Visual Look Up’ for your photos, simply go to your iPhone’s photo gallery. Locate the photo you want to learn more about, and tap on it. If you see a symbol with stars around it, ‘Visual Look Up’ is available for that photo. Tap on the starred info button, and then tap ‘Look Up’ to view the results. To close the ‘Visual Look Up’ results, tap the ‘X’ and swipe down on the photo or video frame.

But that’s not all. ‘Visual Look Up’ can also be used to search for sounds in videos. Open the Photos app and tap on the Search tab. Type in the word ‘Videos’ in the search bar and tap on it. Then, type in the sound you want to locate and tap on it. Tap the ‘See All’ button, and as you swipe through your videos, you’ll see a blue bar on the timeline where the sound you searched for is identified. It’s that simple.

‘Visual Look Up’ utilizes artificial intelligence and natural language processing to analyze your photos and videos and provide relevant information. With this feature, your photos become learning opportunities, and you can easily share your findings with others or save them for later reference.
