Mark Taper Forum Productions Cancelled by Center Theatre Group

The Mark Taper Forum, a part of the Center Theatre Group, is making adjustments to its programming due to various factors, including the lingering effects of the pandemic. These factors have led to challenges in managing rising production costs alongside declining ticket sales and donations.

One consequence of this situation is the postponement of the world premiere of “Fake It Until You Make It” by Larissa FastHorse and directed by Michael John Garces. Additionally, the tour of “Cambodian Rock Band” by Lauren Yee and directed by Chay Yew has been canceled. These changes will take effect in July.

The Center Theatre Group acknowledges that pausing its season programming is a tough but necessary decision. This will undoubtedly impact both artists and audiences, and it is particularly disheartening for the dedicated CTG staff who have worked tirelessly to bring outstanding theatre to Los Angeles.
