Margot Robbie Sips Specially Crafted Tea for Flawless Skin in ‘Barbie’ Movie

  • Jasmina Vico, a specialist, was responsible for helping the cast of “Barbie” achieve flawless skin.
  • She introduced them to milk thistle tea, known for its liver-cleansing properties and skin benefits.
  • Vico also recommended the cast, including Margot Robbie, to consume kefir and goat milk for improved gut health.

The path to achieving perfect skin for the “Barbie” cast involved more than just makeup and facials.

Jasmina Vico, a specialist in skin health based in London, was responsible for ensuring the stars’ radiance on-screen, recognizing that true beauty goes beyond the surface.

“In the movies, lighting is everything,” says Vico in an interview with Vogue. “That’s when I thought, OK, we’re going to work on the liver, calm the nervous system, and make skin glow. But, crucially, we’re going to work on that glow from within.”

One of Vico’s secrets was introducing the cast, including Margot Robbie, America Ferrera, and Emma Mackey, to milk thistle tea, a popular beverage in her native Croatia.

“Milk thistle cleanses your liver,” explains Vico. “When that happens, our liver automatically produces more glutathione, which then makes the skin more radiant.”

The tea, brewed from the spiky heart of milk thistle, is known for its bitter taste and liver-flushing properties.

“The liver likes anything bitter because it helps it to flush,” Vico adds. “This tea is like a witch’s brew!”

The milk thistle tea was so well-received by the “Barbie” stars that Margot Robbie even brewed it for her fellow cast members during their iconic sleepover.

In addition to caring for their skin, Vico developed personalized skin and wellness routines for each star and recommended the consumption of kefir and goat milk to improve gut health.

“I gave Margot kefir and advised her to eat lots of fermented foods, like sauerkraut, for example,” reveals Vico. “She loved all of that.”

Furthermore, Vico had a special trick to address any blemishes the stars encountered.

“Always use salicylic acid and ice,” she advises. “Ice reduces the heat and inflammation, then salicylic acid helps unclog the pores.”
