In anticipation of the expected arrival of Tropical Storm Hilary, numerous weekend events throughout the Southland have either been postponed, canceled, or altered.
Individuals with travel plans are advised to check websites and social media platforms for updates.
Due to the storm, striking members of the Screen Actors Guild and the Writers Guild of America have called off their planned picket lines for Monday.
Here is a roundup of other activities that have been affected as the Southland prepares for the storm:
CONCERTS AND EVENTS
– CicLAvia: The “CicLAvia – Koreatown Meets Hollywood” event scheduled for Sunday has been canceled. Organizers stated, “While CicLAvia has always taken place rain or shine, the uncertainty of the weather on Sunday led us to make the difficult decision to cancel the event for the safety of all participants.”
– Gloria Molina Grand Park’s Sunday Sessions will now be held virtually from 3-8 p.m. on twitch.tv/grandpark_la. The event will feature DJ Rich Medina, DJ Roxcizzle, Lacey IQ, KG Superstar, and DJ Adé.
Although the Park team had implemented various precautions to ensure the event could proceed on Sunday, after consulting with security partners and considering data from the National Weather Service, they determined that closing the event was the best course of action.
– The Guatemalan music concert at Levitt Pavilion in McArthur Park, which was set to take place on Sunday, has been canceled.
– Los Angeles High School’s 150th-anniversary celebration, originally scheduled for Sunday, has been postponed indefinitely.
– The Festival of Arts of Laguna Beach has temporarily closed the Fine Art Show and canceled the Pageant of the Masters performances for both Sunday and Monday.
– The planned Sunday concert at The Greek Theatre by rapper Michael Franti and metal band Spearhead has been postponed until September 15.
– The Sunday concert at the Hollywood Bowl by the rock band My Morning Jacket has been postponed until August 28.
– The sold-out Sunday concert by the rock band Chicago at Pacific Amphitheatre in Costa Mesa has been rescheduled for September 5.

Tickets purchased for the original Sunday date will be honored for the new date.
– The University of Southern California women’s soccer match against Georgia, originally set for Sunday at noon, has been canceled. No makeup date will be scheduled for this non-conference competition. Fans with tickets will receive automatic refunds and a complimentary ticket to the match on Sunday, October 8 against Oregon State.
– Los Alamitos Race Course in Cypress has canceled its Sunday night race card and will be closed for the entire day.
– Both the Dodgers and the Angels played split doubleheaders on Saturday to compensate for their planned Sunday games. The Dodgers achieved a sweep against the Miami Marlins at noon and 6:10 p.m., while the Angels won the first game against the Tampa Bay Rays 7-6, but lost the second game 18-4.

– The Magic Castle is closed on Sunday for both brunch and dinner.
– Magic Mountain and Hurricane Harbor are closed on Sunday.

– Disneyland will close at 10 p.m. and California Adventure will close at 9 p.m. on Sunday. Park officials are closely monitoring Hurricane Hilary and making adjustments based on the latest information from the National Weather Service.
– Raging Waters will be closed on Sunday. Ticket holders can use their tickets on another day, as per officials.
– Universal Studios and Universal CityWalk are open on Sunday; however, officials are closely monitoring the situation and will announce any changes if necessary.
– The Los Angeles Zoo will be closed on Sunday and Monday.
PARKS
– The Bailey Canyon Trail and Mount Wilson Trail will be closed.
Los Angeles County officials have announced the closure of all county parks, buildings, and facilities on Sunday and Monday. This includes picnic shelters, playgrounds, multi-use trails, restrooms, botanical gardens and arboretums, lakes and swim beaches, pools and aquatic centers, natural areas and nature centers, and performance venues.
Though the parks are not fenced in, visitors are encouraged to stay home.
