Man stabbed to death in California, police reveal shocking love triangle

A woman was taken into custody more than a month after her husband was stabbed to death outside their home in Northern California. The case involved incriminating texts and surveillance video, as well as a Selena Gomez song as evidence. Evidence led authorities to Seattle, where they arrested 21-year-old Samim Azizi. Police said he’s being held without bail at the King County Jail and awaiting extradition to California.

About two weeks later, the victim’s wife, 35-year-old Razma Mohammad-Ibrahim, was taken into custody in Hayward. Jail records show she is held without bail at the Santa Rita County Jail.

The victim’s wife and her alleged lover allegedly met around December of 2022 and became romantically involved. They allegedly planned to kill her husband so she could end her marriage, have custody of her children, and claim family assets.

Police collected evidence, including surveillance video, internet searches, and an alleged text message. A friend of the victim told police that he had expressed fear of being attacked by his wife. On the day he was killed, a post on the wife’s Instagram account included a Selena Gomez song.

The victim and Mohammad-Ibrahim have young children who are currently with family members. The U.S. Marshals Service, Renton Police Department, Washington State Crime Lab, and Department of Corrections assisted in the investigation.

The outstanding work of the police officers led to these arrests, said Acting Chief Bryan Matthews. “Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones of Mr. Assar as they continue to grieve during this difficult time.” Hayward is about 30 miles southeast of San Francisco.
