Maine Mass Shooting Victims Include Father and Teenage Son: Know their Stories

LEWISTON, Maine – As the families and friends of the victims of the tragic Maine mass shootings mourn their loved ones, we are gaining more insight into the lives of those who were lost. On Wednesday evening, Lewiston, Maine was rocked by two mass shootings that resulted in the death of at least 18 individuals, with 13 more sustaining injuries. The perpetrator, identified as Robert Card, was found deceased on Friday night.

According to Maine State Police, Sparetime Recreation bowling alley saw the loss of 7 lives – 6 males and 1 female. Additionally, 8 individuals were killed at the nearby Schemengees Bar and Grille, all of whom were male. Three more victims succumbed to their injuries at local hospitals. 3. Bob Violette, 76: Bob was a beloved bowling instructor who was teaching children at Sparetime Recreation at the time of the incident. His dedication to helping young bowlers and his patient and kind nature made him a warm presence in the community.

4. Lucille Violette, 73: Lucille was also among those killed inside the Lewiston bowling alley.

5. Joseph Walker, 57: Joseph, a bar manager at Schemengees, lost his life while trying to confront the shooter with a butcher knife. His bravery and dedication to protecting others are commendable.

6. Michael Deslauriers II, 51: Michael was bowling with his family and friends at Sparetime Recreation when the tragedy struck. In a selfless act, he made sure his loved ones were safe before charging at the shooter.

7. Peyton Brewer-Ross, 40: Peyton, an employee of Bath Iron Works, was confirmed as one of the victims. Described as a valuable and positive presence in his workplace, he will be deeply missed.

9. Billy Brackett, 48: Billy was also taking part in the cornhole tournament at Schemengees when he was tragically killed.

10. Bryan MacFarlane, 41: Like Joshua and Billy, Bryan was involved in the cornhole tournament for deaf athletes. Known for his love for motorcycles, camping, and spending time with friends, Bryan’s loss is deeply felt.

11. Steve Vozzella, 45: Steve lost his life at the cornhole tournament for deaf athletes. His presence will be greatly missed by those who knew him.

12. Arthur Strout, 42: As a father of five, Arthur was at Schemengees playing pool with his son, but left just before the shooting occurred.

13. Tricia Asselin, 53: Tricia was at Sparetime enjoying the bowling league with her sister when the tragedy unfolded. She bravely called 911 but was tragically shot and killed. Remembered as selfless and hardworking, Tricia’s loss is deeply mourned.
