Another 36 bank branches to close in latest blow to the high street
Four banks are planning to close a total of 36 branches, further impacting the struggling high street that has already seen numerous closures in recent years.
Lloyds Bank will be shutting down 18 sites, while 15 branches of Halifax and 2 Bank of Scotland locations, all part of Lloyds Banking Group, will also be closed.
The closures will take place between January and September of next year. NatWest will also be closing one of its branches.

Similar to other banks closing branches, Lloyds stated that visits to their branches have been declining as more customers opt for online banking.
However, critics argue that elderly and vulnerable account holders, who may struggle with internet or app-based platforms, are being left stranded.
Lloyds revealed that the usage of the 35 branches scheduled for closure has declined by an average of 54% over the past five years.
The company reassured that all affected locations have a nearby Post Office.
According to figures from consumer group Which?, 662 branches were closed across the industry last year.
