Orange County sheriff’s deputies have apprehended a man believed to have stabbed two individuals at a Lake Forest apartment complex, resulting in the death of one victim.
At 12:18 p.m., the Orange County Sheriff’s Department received a call regarding a female with stab wounds outside her apartment in the 21000 block of Osterman Road. Deputies were dispatched to the scene to investigate.
Upon arriving at the apartment complex, deputies encountered a man in his 20s, whom they confronted and ultimately shot at 12:32 p.m., according to sheriff’s officials.
Inside the apartment, the deputies discovered a female victim with multiple stab wounds. Unfortunately, she was pronounced dead at the scene, as confirmed by sheriff’s officials.
The deputies provided immediate medical assistance to a wounded woman outside the apartment and to the suspect. Both individuals were then transported to a nearby hospital for further treatment. Their current conditions remain unknown.
According to sheriff’s officials, it is believed that the man and the two women involved in the incident are related. However, the exact ages of the victims have not been disclosed.
The suspect’s identity will be revealed upon his booking into the Orange County Jail.
Footage captured by the deputies’ body-worn cameras will be made available to the public following legal procedures and consultation with the Orange County District Attorney’s Office, according to officials.
