This marks the 6th increase in the past 7 days, following a brief period of decreases totaling 2.2 cents. The AAA and the Oil Price Information Service provided these figures.
Compared to one month ago, the average price has risen by 15.8 cents, but it is still 65.3 cents lower than the same time last year. Since reaching a record high of $6.494 on October 5th, it has dropped by $1.448.
In Orange County, the average price of gasoline also rose to its highest level since November 28th, with an increase of 2.4 cents, bringing it to $4.979 per gallon. Similarly, it has risen 6 out of the past 7 days, totaling an increase of 8.6 cents. It experienced a period of 6 decreases in 7 days before this recent increase, amounting to a decrease of 4.5 cents.
Compared to last month, the average price in Orange County has increased by 16.5 cents, but it remains 62.5 cents lower than the previous year. Since reaching a record high of $6.459 on October 5th, it has dropped by $1.48.
Doug Shupe, the Corporate Communications Manager of the Automobile Club of Southern California, commented on the rising gas prices, stating, “Gas prices are up around the country as oil prices have risen to their highest levels since April.”
Nationally, the average price of gasoline has been increasing for the past 10 days, with an additional increase of 1.8 cents to reach $3.732 per gallon. Over the past 10 days, it has risen by 16.9 cents, with an increase of 2.7 cents on Thursday.
Compared to one week ago, the national average price is 14.5 cents higher, and it is 17.6 cents higher than last month. However, it is still 54.6 cents lower than one year ago. Since reaching a record of $5.016 on June 14, 2022, it has dropped by $1.284.
