In Los Angeles County, the price of self-serve regular gasoline continued to rise, marking the 10th consecutive day and 11th time out of the past 12 days. It increased by 1.2 cents to $5.122 per gallon, reaching its highest level since November 27.
Over the past 12 days, the average price has increased by 14.4 cents, with an additional increase of 1.9 cents on Tuesday alone. This follows a five-day period of decreases totaling 2.2 cents.
Compared to a week ago, the average price is now 11.5 cents higher and 21.3 cents higher than a month ago. However, it is still 50.3 cents lower than it was a year ago, and it has decreased by $1.372 since reaching a record high of $6.494 on October 5.
In Orange County, the average price of gasoline also increased, rising by 1.3 cents to $5.058 per gallon, the highest it has been since November 27.
Compared to a week ago, the Orange County average price is now 12.2 cents higher and 21 cents higher than a month ago. However, it is still 46.4 cents lower than it was a year ago, and it has decreased by $1.401 since reaching a record high of $6.459 on October 5.
Nationally, the average price of gasoline has been on the rise for 15 consecutive days, increasing by 2.3 cents to reach $3.803 per gallon. Over the past 15 days, it has increased by 24 cents, including another 2.3 cents on Tuesday alone. Compared to a week ago, the national average price is now 11.6 cents higher and 26.8 cents higher than a month ago. However, it is still 38.6 cents lower than it was a year ago.
Since peaking at a record high of $5.016 on June 14, 2022, the national average price has dropped by $1.213.
