However, Shanahan still expressed his love for aggressive blitzing, but acknowledged that it was not the right time for such a play. Shanahan’s earlier comments criticizing Wilks were also addressed by John Lynch, the general manager of the 49ers, who emphasized that Shanahan still has a great deal of belief in Wilks despite disagreeing with the call. Now, all parties involved are hoping to move on from the controversy and focus on the upcoming game against the Bengals, with the goal of delivering a strong performance to erase the bitter taste left by the previous loss.
