Kevin Costner Refutes Claims of Any Infidelity During His Marriage

  • Kevin Costner affirmed his fidelity to Christine Baumgartner throughout their 18-year marriage.
  • Baumgartner’s legal team requested documents related to any extramarital romantic relationships, according to multiple reports.
  • In a court filing obtained by People, Costner stated that he had no evidence to provide as he “did not engage in any.”

Kevin Costner has refuted allegations of an extramarital affair during his marriage to Christine Baumgartner. Court documents obtained by various publications reveal that while Costner maintained his faithfulness throughout their 18-year union, he cannot attest to Baumgartner’s fidelity.

In response to a request from Baumgartner’s legal team, who have been employing “stalling tactics” to delay their divorce, Costner assured that he remained loyal to his wife. The ongoing financial negotiations between the couple are currently the focus of their separation.

Entertainment Tonight and People have reported that Baumgartner’s attorneys filed new court documents, including exhibits that sought evidence of any financial support or expenses related to extramarital relationships on Costner’s part.

In response, Costner’s legal team emphasized that he “engaged in none” of such relationships and possesses no relevant documentation. However, it was noted that Costner cannot definitively state if Baumgartner was involved in extramarital affairs prior to their separation or if she used his funds to sustain them.

The People report also states that Costner’s legal team argued that Baumgartner’s request for these documents is “harassment” and is both “burdensome” and “oppressive.”

Requests for comments have gone unanswered from the lawyers representing both Costner and Baumgartner.

The couple’s increasingly contentious divorce revolves around a premarital agreement signed in 2004, which has been the focal point since proceedings began on May 1.

In July, a Santa Barbara county judge ruled that Baumgartner must vacate their beachfront property as outlined in the prenuptial agreement. Baumgartner complied by moving to a smaller house on the same compound, typically used for staff, according to People.

Last month, the couple reached a settlement regarding child support payments, with Costner agreeing to pay $129,755 per month, a reduced amount from Baumgartner’s initial request of $248,000, but still higher than what Costner’s team proposed.

A hearing to determine the validity of the prenuptial agreement is scheduled for November.
