During the show, contestant Jen Jazwinski shared an exciting anecdote about her grandmother’s influence, which led to her entire home giving her a standing ovation. Jennings responded by jokingly saying, “That’s great. And that means a lot in assisted living. Standing up: not easy… for all those people,” which elicited some mixed reactions from the audience and viewers.
The game continued and Jazwinski advanced to the semifinals, but viewers took to social media to express their opinions. Some expressed amusement, while others cringed at Jennings’ remarks.
This isn’t the first time Jennings has faced backlash for inappropriate comments. In 2014, he tweeted an offensive statement about people in wheelchairs which resurfaced in 2018 and again in 2020. After multiple apologies, Jennings remains at the center of controversy for his recent on-air comments, with no response from him as of now.
