Kathryn Bernardo addresses concerns over ‘privacy and personal space’ after vape video goes viral

Kathryn Bernardo emphasizes the significance of “personal space” following the circulation of an unauthorized video showing her holding what appeared to be a vape on social media. She characterizes the video as a breach of her privacy. During an impromptu interview at the media conference for her film “A Very Good Girl,” Bernardo expresses her feelings of sadness regarding the video being captured without her knowledge, although she does not specifically mention its content. She states, “First of all, I’m saddened by the existence of this video because it violates my privacy. However, it has already happened, so there’s nothing left to do. Whether I was engaging in that activity or not, or if I was only doing it for the movie, it does not define who I am as a person. It doesn’t diminish my worth.”

Bernardo hopes that such incidents will not occur again, emphasizing the importance of her “privacy and personal space.” She suggests, “I guess it depends on people’s perceptions. Just wait for the movie.” Referring to her upcoming film, she further adds, “I hope it won’t happen again because we need our privacy and personal space.”

Earlier this month, Bernardo’s co-star in “A Very Good Girl,” Dolly de Leon, addressed the incident, explaining that Bernardo was holding a vape to prepare for a scene in the movie. She clarifies, “She needed to practice because she doesn’t know how to vape. But if she is indeed vaping and drinking, it’s alright because she is of legal age. She’s at the appropriate age to engage in such activities.”
