Vice President Kamala Harris is set to return to Los Angeles on Friday evening, which may cause traffic congestion during rush hour in the Westchester and West Los Angeles areas.
Harris will be arriving at Los Angeles International Airport after 6 p.m. on a flight from Denver. From there, she will be escorted by a motorcade to the West Los Angeles area, resulting in temporary road closures on and off the San Diego (405) Freeway.
According to her office, Harris will be joined by her husband, Douglas Emhoff, for the trip. However, they do not have any public appearances scheduled for the weekend.
Harris is expected to make an appearance on Monday at CNN’s “Juneteenth: A Global Celebration for Freedom” event, which will take place at the Greek Theatre in Griffith Park. The event will feature performances by Charlie Wilson, Nelly, Miguel, and Mike Phillips.
Last month, Harris was in the Southland for four days from May 19-22. During her visit, she made several public appearances including a tour of the Baldwin Hills nonprofit Baby2Baby and a visit to the Crypto.com arena for a Los Angeles Sparks game, where she had the opportunity to meet Brittney Griner, the Phoenix Mercury center who had recently been detained in Russia on a drug charge.
