Joy, a member of the K-pop girl group Red Velvet, is set to return to her activities on June 21 after a two-month hiatus due to health concerns.

In an official statement to Korean media outlet MBC News, Joy’s label, SM Entertainment, announced her comeback on June 20. The statement, as translated by Soompi, mentioned that Joy had taken time off to focus on her health and rest, and she will now resume her scheduled activities, starting with the filming of “Animal Farm” on June 21.

According to SM Entertainment, Joy has shown significant improvement during her hiatus and made the decision to return to work after discussions with the agency and medical staff. The agency also expressed gratitude to fans for their support and encouragement during Joy’s break, and promised to support her in maintaining good health for future activities.

Joy’s hiatus was initially confirmed by SM Entertainment in April of this year due to her poor condition. As a result, she was unable to take part in Red Velvet’s “R to V” shows in various countries.

Born as Park Soo-young, Joy debuted as the lead rapper and sub-vocalist of Red Velvet in August 2014. She also made her solo debut in May 2021.
