‘Property Brothers’ Host Jonathan Scott Reveals Wedding Plans With Zooey Deschanel
Jonathan Scott, known for being one of the hosts of ‘Property Brothers,’ recently shared his specific plans for his upcoming wedding with actress Zooey Deschanel. In an interview on the ‘You Made It Weird With Pete Holmes’ podcast, Scott expressed how he and his fiancé value each other’s wants and needs, including their desires for their wedding day.
During the interview, Scott recalled his first wedding to Kelsey Ully and how she refused to have bagpipes play at the ceremony. However, Scott, being proud of his Scottish heritage, had wanted bagpipes to be a part of the celebration. With Deschanel, Scott’s choice of instrument is welcomed without any objections. He shares, “Zooey and I have talked about the stuff that we want to do. She knows the things that are important to me, the things that have hurt me.” Scott admires the fact that Deschanel understands his sensitivities and vows to never repeat past mistakes.
Deschanel was delighted by the bagpipe-filled proposal that Scott arranged at Edinburgh Castle. As he reminisces, “I proposed at Edinburgh Castle, I had a pipe band setup… we cleared the castle. We were the only people there.” Scott’s proposal banner held by Deschanel’s two kids read, “Zooey, will you marry me?”
Although not much has been revealed about their wedding plans yet, the couple is enjoying their engaged bliss. Deschanel stated in an October cover story with PEOPLE, “We’ve just been basking in engaged bliss and haven’t really figured out anything. We do love to throw a party.”
