Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner were photographed enjoying a meal with their daughters just before Turner filed a lawsuit against him.
The couple, who have two children together, were seen at Momofuku Noodle Bar in New York City, according to images shared by TMZ.
This lunch outing happened three days prior to Turner’s legal action against Jonas regarding their daughters’ custody.
Turner’s court documents, filed in Manhattan District Court, requested the return of the children to their “forever home” in England where the family officially moved in April.
Turner’s petition stated that she and Jonas had planned to purchase a countryside property by the end of the year.
Jonas, who had initiated divorce proceedings, has been restricted by a court order from relocating the children due to filing for divorce in Florida.
However, Turner’s petition claimed that Jonas agreed to keep the children only until she finished filming a new drama series, after which they were supposed to return to their rental property in England.
Following their separation, Turner’s petition revealed that their marriage broke down suddenly and she learned about Jonas filing for divorce through the media.
The former couple met on September 17 to discuss their separation, during which Turner alleged that Jonas refused to send the children home and had their passports in his possession.
In a statement to Insider, Jonas’ representatives confirmed the meeting but stated that he left with the impression of an amicable co-parenting arrangement and desires both parents to raise their daughters in the US and the UK.
Since their separation, several celebrities have shown support for Turner.
Actress Jessica Chastain, Turner’s former co-star in “Dark Phoenix,” reposted a social media post by Roxane Gay accusing Jonas of “PR manipulation.”
Chastain referred to Gay as “The Oracle” in her reshared post.
Another celebrity who appears to be on Turner’s side is Taylor Swift, who previously dated Jonas as a teenager.
Recently, Turner and Swift were photographed together at an Italian restaurant in New York’s West Village.
