The media tries to manipulate us by claiming that Biden’s retelling of this fire, or his insistence that his son Beau died in Iraq (when he actually died of cancer), connects with victims. The Washington Post even suggests that “Biden… has long been seen as uniquely adept at leading with empathy amid tragedies like this one.” But this is not empathy; it’s just pure ego. And it’s downright insulting.
A false image has been constructed around Joe Biden: the image of him as the great negotiator, the empathetic leader, and the epitome of composure. None of these things are true. Perhaps they never were. We can witness the truth with our own eyes.
