Jimmy Kimmel Presents a Theory on Robert F. Kennedy Jr’s Campaign

Could the unconventional presidential campaign of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. actually be the work of Borat, the infamous character played by actor Sacha Baron Cohen? That’s the theory put forth by Jimmy Kimmel, who has been off the air due to the writers strike but took to Twitter to share his thoughts on Kennedy’s campaign.

Kimmel, known for his skepticism, found it suspicious that Kennedy’s support came from far-right figures like Tucker Carlson. He highlighted Kennedy’s tweet about weight gain as part of a larger thread that included a pushup video.

However, Kimmel was right to question Kennedy’s claim that Americans gained an average of 29 pounds during the pandemic. While an American Psychological Association poll conducted in 2021 found that 42 percent of Americans gained weight during the first year of COVID lockdowns, the average gain was 29 pounds among that specific group, not all Americans.

Other studies have disputed those findings, with one study from last year suggesting that Americans gained roughly the same amount of weight during the pandemic as they had in the previous year. This indicates that COVID-19 had little to no impact on weight gain.
