While shopping at a local mall, the “Irresistible” singer was approached by a fan who wanted her autograph. But little did the fan know, they asked the wrong pop star for their signature.
Simpson, 43, shared her humorous reaction to the light-hearted mishap on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday.
“The look on my face when someone in the parking lot at the mall asks you for your autograph, but expects you to sign it Britney Spears,” she wrote alongside a photo of her and her daughter Maxwell Drew, 11, making exaggerated shocked facial expressions.
Fans on X responded to the mallgoer’s mistake in Simpson’s comments section, with some noting the resemblance between the two superstars.
