Dr. Jain pleasantly surprised Ms. Lee during their wedding with a remarkable piano performance of Michael Bublé’s “Home.” His friend and nephew joined in on vocals, creating a truly mesmerizing moment. “The dedication and effort put into practice by everyone involved was truly a thing of beauty,” Ms. Lee remarked. “The joyous festivities commenced even before the actual ceremony took place.”
Following the ceremony on Friday, the couple hosted a cocktail hour, followed by a delectable vegetarian dinner prepared by chef Vipul Gupta from Moghul Catering. The menu showcased a fusion of Indian and Korean cuisines. The reception was enlivened by the stellar performance of a live band called Blue Avenue Groove. The celebrations continued the next day when Narpat Jain, Dr. Jain’s brother, and his wife, Archana Jain, hosted a lunch. The newlyweds engaged in traditional Indian wedding games, such as a ring search in a bowl filled with milk and flowers. To add to the festivities, a pizza truck and a dosa station were also present.
About two weeks later, on August 12, Dr. Jain and Ms. Lee were legally married in the backyard of their friend and neighbor, Kristen Byrdsong, who is a superior court judge in Playa del Rey, Los Angeles. Judge Byrdsong made the occasion even more special by delivering a heartfelt speech while dressed in her judge’s robe. She and her husband commemorated the moment by popping a bottle of Dom Pérignon.
Reflecting on the whirlwind experience, Dr. Jain shared, “It’s all been a complete blur. What we always dreamt of was bringing our families together as one. We were initially a bit apprehensive due to our different cultural backgrounds. However, in the end, it was abundantly clear that there was an undeniable connection and tremendous love among everyone involved.”
