Jen Psaki diligently works to address concern surrounding Democrats’ abortion stance

Fox News articles can now be listened to, providing a new way to engage with the content. Following the first GOP presidential debate, Jen Psaki, a former Biden staffer turned MSNBC pundit, quickly took to social media to deny that anyone supports abortion up until birth. Psaki’s reaction stemmed from the current no-limits abortion approach of Democrats, which was being discussed by GOP candidates. Frustrated by this discussion, Psaki dedicated an entire segment of her show to attempting to explain away the Democrats’ abortion on-demand position. Her spin and manipulation of the topic was indeed impressive.

However, Psaki failed to consider one essential thing – facts cannot be ignored. People were quick to remind her of her own cover-up for President Joe Biden, where she refused to specify any limits he would support on abortion, even when pressed repeatedly. Psaki, who hosts an MSNBC program on Sundays, repeatedly misrepresented the Democrat position on abortion.

Furthermore, her comments intentionally overlook the evolving stance of Democrats on abortion. Psaki claims that nobody wants later abortions, but it is increasingly difficult to find a Democrat in Congress who supports any limits on abortion. Take, for example, the case of Robert F. Kennedy Jr. He recently voiced support for national limits on abortion after the first trimester, only to face backlash from his fellow Democrats and ultimately issue a correction stating that there should be no limits. Democrats no longer allow dissent on the issue of abortion. Pro-life Democrats are no longer tolerated in today’s Democratic Party, and Democratic politicians are forbidden from supporting any limit on abortion.

The lack of diversity in thought on abortion within the Democratic Party is rarely shown to the American people, as the corporate media and reproductive rights journalists actively cover it up. When an NBC reporter tried to factcheck Governor Ron DeSantis in real time after he accurately shared Democrats’ up-to-birth abortion stance, she quickly dismissed his statement, claiming that there was no indication of Democrats pushing for such a position. These reporters consistently gaslight the American people and provide cover for the extreme abortion position of the Democrats.

Another tactic used by the media is to slap misleading “fact checks” on anything related to exposing abortion. When confronted with the topic of later abortions, like Psaki, they argue that they rarely or never happen and, when they do, it is usually in emergency situations. However, they provide no evidence to support this claim and are out of touch with real-world data. Both pro-life advocates and the abortion industry agree that the majority of abortions involve healthy babies and mothers, occurring for social reasons such as financial pressure, relationship problems, or feeling unprepared for parenthood. Pro-abortion researchers themselves admit that women seeking late-term abortions do so for non-emergencies and not reasons of fetal anomaly or life endangerment. It is unfortunate that America is one of only seven countries in the world that allows abortion after five months, alongside human rights violators like China and North Korea.

Those pushing the abortion agenda not only want to pretend that late-term abortions never happen but also want to manipulate definitions like viability and health to avoid providing clear answers. The catch-all phrase “health of the woman” allows for all-trimester abortions, but a closer look at the Supreme Court’s definition of health reveals that it includes social, financial, and emotional factors. Organizations like NARAL and Planned Parenthood, which are significant donors to Democrats, openly advocate for limitless abortions on demand. Abortionists like Dr. Warren Hern even mock the idea of fetal viability. Hern, who has performed up-to-birth abortions for over fifty years, asserts that a fetus’s viability is determined by a woman’s willingness to carry it, not by gestational age.

Last year, after the Dobbs decision overturned Roe v. Wade, I witnessed the protests outside the Supreme Court in D.C. Not a single protestor held signs advocating for safe, legal, rare abortions or early abortions only. Instead, I saw numerous signs demanding “Abortion on Demand,” and one woman in her third trimester had the words “Not Yet A Human” painted on her belly.

Jen Psaki should open her eyes to the reality that today’s Democratic Party supports late-term abortions. The evidence is clear in this month’s Gallup poll, where 59% of Democrats stated they are in favor of abortion at any time, for any reason. Instead of gaslighting the American people, Psaki should either be honest about where Democrats stand on abortion or reconsider the party’s position altogether. E.V.
