BOSTON – Toronto Blue Jays’ right-handed reliever Jay Jackson is making his return to the lineup following a short absence on the family medical emergency list.
Jackson’s son JR was born prematurely in early July.
His return to Toronto comes at an opportune time as fellow reliever Trevor Richards has been placed on the 15-day injured list.
This season, Jackson (3-0) has an impressive 0.53 earned-run average over 17 innings with 19 strikeouts.
