A recent Instagram post from Jamie Foxx reveals that he has gained a renewed appreciation for life after facing a major health scare earlier this year.

In the post, Foxx shares a carousel of photos showing himself in a white t-shirt and colorful bucket hat, accompanied by the caption: “You’re lookin at a man who is thankful… finally startin to feel like myself…”

“It has been an unexpected journey into darkness, but I can now see the light,” adds the Academy Award-winning actor.

Foxx goes on to express gratitude for the support he received during his difficult time: “I want to thank everyone who reached out and sent well wishes and prayers. You just don’t know how much it meant to me. I will be thanking all of you personally. And if you didn’t know… GOD IS GOOD… all day every day.” He includes the hashtags “#swipeleft,” “#imbackandimbetter,” and “#nobaddays.”

In April, news broke that Foxx had experienced a “medical complication” while filming a Netflix film in Atlanta, Georgia. Although details about the health scare remained scarce, Foxx’s daughter, Corinne, assured fans that he was on the road to recovery. Foxx made a public appearance in July, waving to fans from a yacht.

In a heartfelt Instagram video, Foxx acknowledged the ordeal he had been through: “I went through something that I thought I would never ever go through… I didn’t want you to see me with tubes running out of me and trying to figure out if I was gonna make it through.”

While the length of Foxx’s hospitalization is unclear, he expressed his desire for fans to remember him for his jokes, movies, and songs in his July update.
