Former Republican Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney has warned that if Donald Trump is elected, it would signify the end of the republic. In an interview with John Dickerson for “CBS News Sunday Morning,” Cheney expressed her concern at how comfortable her party has grown with Trump and his deceitful ways. The wide-ranging interview will be broadcast on December 3 and streamed on Paramount+.
Cheney also discussed politics, her career, and Trump’s White House run in the interview. She also talked about Speaker of the House Mike Johnson and her new book, “Oath and Honor: A Memoir and a Warning.”
In the interview, Cheney explained her belief that Trump’s reelection would be disastrous for the republic, stating that people who underestimate the danger because of checks and balances don’t fully understand how the Republicans in Congress have been co-opted. She criticized the willingness of some to collaborate with Trump despite knowing that it’s wrong, calling it a danger to the country.
