After missing practice on Thursday, several key players from the Eagles are preparing for the upcoming game against the 49ers on Sunday at the Linc.
DT Fletcher Cox (groin), LB Zach Cunningham (hamstring), TE Dallas Goedert (forearm), TE Grant Calcaterra (ankle), and S Justin Evans (knee) were not on the practice field on Thursday.
All five players were also listed as non-participants on Wednesday in the estimated injury report.
Cox’s absence, being very rare, indicates the severity of his injury. Though he was working on a side field during practice, his availability for the upcoming game is uncertain. Cunningham is expected to miss the game due to the hamstring injury. Without him, the Eagles will have to rely on other linebackers.
Goedert’s return also remains under question as he continues to recover from a fractured forearm. He was seen catching passes on a side field but was without a helmet, suggesting he’s not yet ready to play.
Additionally, seven players who were limited earlier this week were on the field for practice on Thursday.
Ultimately, the Eagles are facing several challenges in terms of injured and limited players for their match against the 49ers.
