I had the amazing opportunity to attend Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour a total of four times in various cities across the US. From floor seats to nosebleed sections, I spent a total of $1,605.58 on tickets alone. The experience was truly unforgettable and I wouldn’t hesitate to do it all over again.

Taylor Swift has been immensely successful this summer with her Eras Tour, and I contributed at least $1,600 to her earnings. From March to July, I attended four of Swift’s massive concerts in three different cities in the US. I was there on the opening night in Glendale, Arizona, attended two of her three nights in East Rutherford, New Jersey, and caught one show in Denver, Colorado.

To attend these concerts, I spent a total of $1,605.58 on tickets alone. This doesn’t even include the costs for airfare, hotel accommodations, transportation, food, and other necessities for the concerts. If I were to include those expenses, my total expenditure would easily exceed $2,000.

Despite the financial investment, as the summer and my Eras Tour journey come to an end, I have absolutely no regrets about the money I spent. In fact, I would gladly do it all over again given the chance.

When Swift first announced the Eras Tour on Instagram, I initially planned on attending just one show in New Jersey. I have been attending Swift’s concerts in the Garden State since 2010 when she embarked on her first headlining tour. However, when I saw that Paramore would be a supporting act for the Glendale, Arizona show, I was ecstatic. Paramore is my all-time favorite band, and the idea of seeing them perform with Swift was beyond my wildest dreams.

I didn’t even have to discuss attending with my sister. She called me immediately after seeing the announcement and we devised a plan to attend both the New Jersey show and the opening night in Arizona. We knew we couldn’t pass up the opportunity to see our favorite band and artist performing together, especially since it seemed like the biggest tour of our lives.

We made all the necessary preparations, requested presale codes, and encouraged our parents, my sister’s boyfriend, and a close friend who planned to attend the New Jersey show with us to do the same. We even decided to splurge on VIP floor tickets for Arizona and medium-priced lower-bowl tickets for New Jersey.

Of course, the Ticketmaster experience was chaotic. We spent hours waiting in line, frantically answered phone calls, and were unsure if we would even get the chance to attend a single show, let alone two. However, by some stroke of luck, I managed to secure our dream lower-bowl seats for the Saturday show in New Jersey. Each ticket cost $345.14 after fees and taxes.

The ticket sales for the Arizona show opened a few hours later, and after such a stressful morning, I was apprehensive about our chances. Nevertheless, I joined the queue for the Friday New Jersey date, not really expecting to get through. To my surprise, I did, and my sister, friend, and I impulsively purchased three nosebleed seats for $124.60 each.

A few hours later, it was time to purchase tickets for the opening night in Arizona. Since the tickets were sold through SeatGeek instead of Ticketmaster, I wasn’t sure what to expect. To my shock, the process was incredibly smooth, and within minutes, I managed to secure fifth-row floor seats complete with VIP merchandise boxes and additional perks. Each ticket cost $1,009.89. However, when I called my sister to share the news, she informed me that her boyfriend had changed his mind and wanted to attend the concert as well. So, she joined another queue to purchase tickets for the Denver, Colorado show. Once again, we opted for nosebleed seats and paid $125.95 each.

Throughout the Eras Tour, I had the privilege of witnessing Swift’s impressive 40+ song setlist, stunning costume changes, crowd interactions, and much more. Each show I attended had its own unique moments.

The opening night in Glendale was particularly unforgettable. My sister and I screamed and headbanged during Paramore’s set, much to the confusion of the younger fans around us who seemed unfamiliar with the band. Once Swift took the stage, we were left in awe. My sister even shed a few tears on multiple occasions.

Even months later, I still haven’t fully processed that night. Each Eras Tour attendee was treated to two surprise songs at each show, but we were lucky enough to experience an entire setlist filled with surprises. I have never felt anticipation like that before in my life.

When we saw Swift in New Jersey, it was an absolute blast to share the experience with one of our closest friends. We dressed up, belted out the lyrics at the top of our lungs, and erupted in screams when Swift performed “Getaway Car” with the help of her friend and New Jersey native, Jack Antonoff.

By the time the Colorado show came around, we felt like seasoned Eras Tour veterans. We donned our shiniest dresses, made friendship bracelets, and tried to soak in every moment as it would be our final show.

I’ve been fortunate enough to attend every tour that Swift has headlined, and each show left a lasting impression. However, there was something truly magical about the Eras Tour. The sense of community among fans was something I had never experienced before at Swift’s concerts, and there was a genuine appreciation for every piece of art she has ever released. It was also heartwarming, funny, and sometimes emotional to see the reactions of security guards, venue staff, and even family members and significant others who aren’t necessarily Swift fans.

And then there’s Swift herself. In my opinion, she has always been an outstanding performer, but the Eras Tour showcased her perfected craft. Her vocals were better than ever, her confidence was palpable, and even her imperfect dancing encouraged me to jump around for three straight hours.

While buying the tickets was a stressful ordeal and it undoubtedly left me significantly poorer after traveling across the country for these concerts, there is no doubt in my mind that I would do it all over again if given the chance.
