July 27 (UPI) — A Michigan woman hit the jackpot, scoring an impressive $288,903 in the Fantasy 5 lottery on her husband’s birthday.
Kristin Murawski, a 46-year-old resident of Washtenaw County, shared with Michigan Lottery officials that she purchased her winning ticket for the July 21 drawing at the Red Party Store in Willis.
“I enjoy playing Fantasy 5 when the jackpot exceeds $150,000,” Murawski explained. “We made a quick stop at Red’s, and I noticed that the jackpot had far surpassed $150,000, so I decided to get a ticket.”
Murawski emphasized that it was already a special day for her husband. “It was my husband Scott’s birthday, so while heading home, we made a stop at our neighbor’s house to celebrate. During our gathering, my brother-in-law sent my husband a text message with the winning numbers. As I examined them, I couldn’t contain my excitement, yelling, ‘I think we’ve won! I think we’ve won!’ My husband looked at the ticket, and his jaw dropped,” she recounted.
The ticket successfully matched all five numbers: 21-23-25-34-38, granting Murawski the incredible $288,903 jackpot.
“Winning this jackpot is truly life-changing and provides us with peace of mind. It means an earlier retirement for my husband and alleviates any concerns about financial stability once we both retire,” she expressed.
