A shocking incident unfolded in Huntington Beach late Sunday night, Sept. 10, when a teenage driver intentionally targeted and struck three bicyclists within an hour, resulting in the tragic death of one victim. The police have not disclosed any potential motive for these actions, nor have they revealed the identity or age of the young suspect.
The first hit-and-run occurred around 10:30 p.m. near Edwards Street and Warner Avenue. A bicyclist reported that a black Toyota had sideswiped him, causing only minor injuries. Approximately 30 minutes later and a quarter mile north of the initial incident, another bicyclist was aggressively struck by a black Toyota at Brad Drive and Edwards, leading authorities to believe that these collisions were deliberate acts.
At 10:45 p.m., tragedy struck at the intersection of Springdale and Heil Avenue when a black Toyota sedan fatally hit 70-year-old Steven Gonzales, a resident of Huntington Beach. Paramedics arrived promptly, but sadly, Mr. Gonzales succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

In the evening hours of the same day, the individual was arrested and now faces charges of murder and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon. As of Wednesday, the suspect remains in custody.
