Early footage of Hogwarts Legacy on the Nintendo Switch has been leaked by a fan who received the game ahead of the official release date. Despite the game hitting the Switch on November 14, Warner Bros. Games and Avalanche Software have yet to share any gameplay footage, which has left fans wondering.
A Reddit user named Talhelfg revealed that they got their hands on an early copy of the game and posted a 38-second gameplay video on Twitter. Although the posts have been taken down, the video has already made its rounds on the internet.
The leaked footage shows the player character casting spells and running around, but it’s too short to reveal much about the game. Previously, only six screenshots of the game had been shared, offering glimpses of magical lessons, enchanting landscapes, and formidable foes.
Hogwarts Legacy was announced for the Switch in March 2022, but the release was delayed, making it almost a year late compared to other console versions. Despite this, the game has seen massive success, becoming the best-selling game of 2023 at the time and generating $1 billion in revenue. However, its ties to creator J.K. Rowling, known for her controversial views, have sparked mixed reactions.
Despite the controversy, IGN gave the game a glowing 9/10 review, calling it the Harry Potter RPG fans have always wanted. With the anticipation for this game building, fans are eagerly waiting for the official gameplay reveal.
