California Home Featured on “The Brady Bunch” Sells to Fan
A beloved California home that served as the exterior for “The Brady Bunch” has been purchased by a devoted fan. The property, which was recently listed by former owner HGTV, has been sold to historic home enthusiast Tina Trahan for $3.2 million.
Trahan, married to former HBO chief executive Chris Albrecht, intends to use the house for fundraising purposes rather than living in it. She views the home as a work of art and believes any changes to make it livable would detract from its uniqueness.
HGTV acquired the iconic Studio City compound in 2018 after a bidding war that involved Lance Bass. The property, located at 11222 Dilling St., was purchased for $3.5 million, and an additional $1.9 million was spent on transforming the interior to resemble the set of “The Brady Bunch.” The renovation included adding a second story to recreate the show’s famous living room.
Despite its transformation and historical significance, Trahan mentioned that the starting price for the home was too high given its lack of modern appliances and conveniences. Real estate agents representing the buyer, Marcy Roth and Fredrik Eklund of The Eklund | Gomes Team at Douglas Elliman, compared the property’s uniqueness to other famous homes, including the Freddy Krueger house on Elm Street and the “Home Alone” house.
