Hayden Christensen’s Astonishing Transformation: Unbelievable De-Aging Leaves Fans in Awe

“I advised them to stick together, but they never listen. They never listen.” These frustrated words were spoken by the exasperated droid Huyang (played by David Tennant) at the start of the latest episode of Ahsoka. However, at this point in the series, this quote could apply to any episode. It captures the ongoing theme of Ahsoka, where masters and apprentices struggle to see eye-to-eye despite the potential benefits of working together.

In this week’s episode, Ahsoka (portrayed by Rosario Dawson) takes a different role. She retraces her steps as an apprentice, while Sabine (played by Natasha Liu Bordizzo) is not her apprentice. Ahsoka revisits her past, and viewers may recognize her master, Anakin Skywalker, who appeared in the previous episode. Anakin, also known as Darth Vader, makes a comeback, as Hayden Christensen returns to the role. The duo reunites in the World Between Worlds, a place where different times converge. Ahsoka must confront her old demons and fight for her life by traveling back in time through her memories. While the battle lacks excitement compared to the true villains of Ahsoka, Baylan and Shin Hati, the impending threat of Grand Admiral Thrawn adds a sense of impending doom.

Throughout the episode, Ahsoka learns from Anakin, who teaches her about the Jedi’s role in times of war. Ahsoka, however, leans towards pacifism, empathizing with the fallen Clones and feeling responsible for their deaths. This sequence deviates from the traditional Star Wars tone and feels more like a Marvel production, with its visually striking battles reminiscent of Black Panther or the emotional conflicts in the Avengers films.

After defeating Anakin and conquering her inner demons, Ahsoka remains trapped underwater. Fortunately, Herc’s son Jacen, who has inherited Jedi abilities, senses her lightsaber strikes during her underwater fight. Despite the New Republic’s advice for Hera to retreat and abandon the search for Thrawn, Hera sends her fleet to find Ahsoka. Jacen inquires about Anakin, which Huyang describes as intense. Hera eventually locates Ahsoka, revives her, and allows her to rest before sending an update to Chancellor Mon Mothma. Ahsoka wakes up, dressed in a cozy sweater, and thanks Jacen before embarking on a mission to find Sabine.

Using her Force powers, Ahsoka revisits her memories to piece together Sabine’s whereabouts. She learns that Sabine most likely joined Shin Hati and Baylan in their search for Ezra and Thrawn. With the map destroyed, Ahsoka realizes that the only way to track them down is by following the purrgil, a species of flying space whales that Ezra once followed to locate Thrawn. Despite Mon Mothma’s demand for Hera and her team to return to Coruscant, they reject the order and set off on their new mission, even if it means going against the perceived “good guys.”

Even Hera has doubts about the plan, as there is no guarantee that the purrgil will lead them to Sabine and Ezra. However, Ahsoka believes it’s worth the risk rather than staying put. Ahsoka and Huyang soar through the sky, surrounded by clouds and magnificent purrgil creatures. These creatures are awe-inspiring, resembling a mix between a blue whale and the creature from Nope. When Ahsoka uses the Force to communicate with one of the purrgil, making it open its mouth, she commands Huyang to fly inside. With nothing to lose, Ahsoka ventures into the belly of the beast.
