Halle Berry has agreed to financially support her ex-husband Olivier Martinez with a sum of $8,000 per month for their child, as stated in a document obtained by The Times. This decision comes after their divorce, which was filed eight years ago in October 2015. Additionally, Berry is required to pay Martinez 4.3% of any income exceeding $2 million.
The couple shares joint custody of their son, Maceo Robert Martinez, who is currently nine years old. Joint custody entails shared decision-making regarding important aspects of their son’s life, such as school enrollment, medical appointments, and counseling. Maceo attends Le Lycée Français de Los Angeles, a prestigious private school in Westside Village known for its French and international programs. As part of the settlement, Berry is responsible for covering his school tuition. The settlement further details that Maceo will participate in both individual and family counseling sessions. During these sessions, Berry’s 15-year-old daughter from a previous relationship, Nahla Ariela Aubry, is also allowed to join. However, Berry’s current partner, Van Hunt, is only permitted to attend if Maceo is present.
The settlement addresses various logistics related to their son’s care, including school pick-up times, locations, and custody arrangements for holidays, weekends, and school breaks. For instance, on even-numbered years, Berry has custody of Maceo during spring break and Thanksgiving, while Martinez has custody during odd-numbered years.
In their joint statement to People when the divorce was announced in 2015, Berry and Martinez expressed their decision as being made “with a heavy heart.” They emphasized their commitment to moving forward with love, respect, and focus on their son’s well-being. They also requested privacy for themselves and their children during that challenging period.

After her relationship with French model Aubrey in 2005, Berry and Martinez met on the set of “Dark Tide” in 2010 and began dating publicly later that year.
