Recently, Stefani received a star on the renowned Hollywood Walk of Fame, marking yet another milestone in her successful career.
During the ceremony, Stefani was accompanied by her husband, country superstar Blake Shelton, and their three sons: Kingston, 17; Zuma, 15; and Apollo, 9. The heartwarming family presence was highlighted by the Today show.
Shelton took the opportunity to shower love and admiration on his wife, emphasizing her compassion and dedication as a mother, as reported by Entertainment Tonight.
He also shared the story of how they first met, painting a vivid picture of Stefani’s down-to-earth nature. “The first time that I ever met Gwen was in 2014. She wasn’t like any other famous person that I had ever met before. She drove herself to work in a black minivan with car seats in it,” Shelton recalled. “She didn’t roll in with security. She came in with a baby and two little boys, which at the time worked like security because nobody was going near — it was chaos.”
Shelton continued, highlighting Stefani’s unwavering commitment to motherhood. “It was clear to me that she was a mother first and foremost over anything else in the world — that was her No. 1 job,” he shared with Today.
Their friendship blossomed in 2015 as both artists navigated the end of their respective marriages. Shelton had previously been married to Miranda Lambert, while Stefani was married to Gavin Rossdale. Eventually, their bond evolved into a romantic relationship, culminating in their marriage in 2021.
Expressing her deep affection for Shelton, Stefani referred to him as her “best friend” during the ceremony. She expressed, “You have given me the kind of love I never knew before. The minute I met you, I knew that I was home and I am so, so proud that you’re mine. I can’t believe it. I love you so much,” according to Today.
The couple’s son, Kingston, is also following in his parents’ footsteps. Stefani proudly shared with People that Kingston has been writing exceptional songs, and his first public performance was incredibly emotional for her. “When it’s your kid, it’s like, you love everything, but this is next level to me. These are really good songs. So Blake said, ‘Hey, we got to go live now.’ It’s so different than writing a song — being able to sing live is a whole ‘nother thing,” she revealed.
Stefani’s joy for her son’s talent stems from her own experiences. She shared with People, “It’s crazy when you have children, and they learn what their gift is. You see their talent, and you’re like, ‘Wow.’ I’m so happy for him that he has that outlet,” adding that she herself was at a similar age when her band No Doubt took off.
