June 15 (UPI) — FX has released a thrilling trailer for Season 5 of What We Do in the Shadows.
The network unveiled a preview of the upcoming season on Thursday, showcasing the talented cast including Kayvan Novak, Matt Berry, Natasia Demetriou, Harvey Guillén, and Mark Porksch.
What We Do in the Shadows is a critically acclaimed mockumentary comedy horror series adapted from the successful 2014 film directed by Jemaine Clement and Taika Waititi.
Created by Clement, the TV series revolves around the lives of Nandor (Novak), Laszlo (Berry), Nadja (Demetriou), Colin (Proksh), and their human familiar, Guillermo (Guillén), as they navigate their existence as vampires in Staten Island.
The Season 5 trailer provides a glimpse of Guillermo’s impending transformation after being bitten by a vampire, as well as Colin’s unexpected political ambitions.
An official synopsis teases, “In Season 5, Nandor fears losing his familiar and friend Guillermo, who appears to be growing closer to Laszlo. As Laszlo investigates the mysterious changes happening to Guillermo, Nadja grapples with the consequences of an undiagnosed supernatural curse. Colin, following the footsteps of energy vampires before him, decides to run for political office, and The Guide (Kristen Schaal) struggles to find her place as the newest member of this tight-knit group who have known each other for centuries.”
The show is executive produced by Clement, Waititi, Paul Simms, Sam Johnson, Garrett Basch, and Eli Bush.
Season 5 will kick off with a two-episode premiere on July 13 at 10 p.m. EDT on FX, and will also be available for streaming on Hulu.
