Florida Republican Governor Ron DeSantis made a groundbreaking announcement on Sunday concerning a flight carrying 270 individuals who had been left stranded in Israel due to flight cancellations amidst the ongoing war against Hamas terrorists. The flight has successfully landed in Florida, specifically at Tampa International Airport, according to a news release from the governor’s office. Additionally, in collaboration with the search and rescue non-profit group Project DYNAMO, the governor facilitated the evacuation of seven more individuals to Orlando.
The arrival of these travelers in Florida is a direct result of Governor DeSantis signing an executive order last week, authorizing the coordination of logistical, rescue, and evacuation operations through the state’s Division of Emergency Management. This executive order effectively allowed flights to bring stranded Floridians back home, providing them with a means of escape from the ongoing conflict in the Jewish State.
“I am incredibly proud of our quick and efficient response in mobilizing resources, enabling us to achieve what the federal government could not: safely returning Floridians and fellow Americans back home and reuniting them with their families, free of charge,” expressed Governor DeSantis in the news release.

Project DYNAMO CEO Bryan Stern informed reporters that the flight included 91 children and four dogs. “We have a dedicated team of volunteers who tirelessly ensure the well-being of Americans trapped in crisis situations worldwide,” Stern stated in the news release. “It is truly heart-wrenching to witness the devastating events unfolding in Israel. We are immensely grateful to Governor DeSantis for collaborating with us on this mission to save every American in need.”
Upon landing in Tampa, evacuees were granted access to resources provided by state agencies, as stated in the news release. Governor DeSantis is also dispatching medical supplies, hygiene products, clothing, and children’s toys to Israel, providing support to impacted Israelis.
Since Hamas initiated its attack against Israel on October 7th, over 3,600 individuals have lost their lives. Israeli forces have responded with retaliatory action, resulting in numerous casualties and the imprisonment, torture, and murder of innocent civilians at the hands of Hamas militants.

The Florida Division of Emergency Management will lead future endeavors involving additional flights, ensuring the continued transport of Floridians back to the state as well as the provision of necessary supplies to Israel.
Major airlines had canceled flights to and from Tel Aviv due to the significant attack launched by Hamas against Israel. However, in recent days, U.S. officials initiated the organization of charter flights to evacuate the numerous American citizens who remained stranded in Israel. Individuals boarding these flights are required to sign promissory notes agreeing to repay the U.S. government for the expenses incurred during their evacuation.
