A 43-year-old man with a lengthy criminal background has been detained once again for trafficking methamphetamine in Gordon County, according to the Gordon County Sheriff’s Office.
In October 2023, law enforcement investigators from the county were informed by another jurisdiction about the distribution of methamphetamine in the Sonoraville community.
After a month-long surveillance operation, detectives from the Sheriff’s Drug Enforcement Unit managed to gather enough evidence against the suspect, identified as Jason Allen Bagley.
The Sheriff’s Office indicated that Bagley was arrested without any issues when detectives and deputies executed a search warrant at his residence on Wednesday, Nov. 15.
During the search, authorities seized methamphetamine, Schedule II and Schedule IV narcotics, illegal drug packaging materials, as well as several rifles and handguns, including a sawed-off shotgun.
Bagley now faces charges including trafficking in methamphetamine, possession of Schedule II and IV narcotics, and numerous weapons violations.
It was also disclosed that Bagley had been arrested previously on similar charges in August 2022 and May 2021, and had been convicted of possession of methamphetamine on multiple occasions dating back to 2002.
On Wednesday, Nov. 16, Bagley was denied bond by a judge, due to his extensive criminal history and pending cases.
