Ghosts Rifle and Body Armor Discovered Inside U-Haul in Pasadena, Police Report

Police authorities in Pasadena made a startling discovery when they found an AR-15 “ghost” rifle, along with two loaded high-capacity magazines and body armor inside a U-Haul truck that had been stopped on a street. This incident occurred at around 3:55 a.m. on Friday, when officers responded to a minor collision at the intersection of Claremont Street and Wilson Avenue.

Upon arriving at the scene, officers found the driver of the U-Haul, who was asleep in the driver’s seat. They woke him up and asked him to exit the vehicle. As he stepped out, the officers spotted a handgun tucked into his waistband. The suspect, identified as 36-year-old Marc Oliver David from Carson, attempted to flee on foot but was apprehended after a brief pursuit. The officers recovered the 9mm pistol during the arrest.

A search of the U-Haul truck uncovered even more concerning items. Alongside the AR-15 rifle, they found two loaded high-capacity magazines and body armor. Following this discovery, the department’s Street Crime Unit conducted investigations at three locations linked to the suspect. Unfortunately, they did not find any additional evidence.

Marc Oliver David was subsequently booked on multiple felony charges, which include weapons and narcotics violations, as well as no-bail arrest warrants.

Authorities are urging anyone with information about David or this incident to contact the Pasadena Police Department at 626-744-4241. Tips can also be submitted anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or through their website at www.lacrimestoppers.org.
