David Corenswet, Nicholas Hoult, and Tom Brittney emerged as the top choices to portray the legendary superhero Superman in Jame Gunn’s highly anticipated film. Sources reveal that actresses Rachel Brosnahan, Emma Mackey, and Phoebe Dynevor were also contenders for the role of Lois Lane.
The Hollywood Reporter reported on June 26 that Gunn, the writer and director of “Superman: Legacy,” conducted screen tests with various actor pairings and was narrowing down his selections. Corenswet, Hoult, and Brittney were among the actors who participated in screen tests while donning the iconic superhero suit.
A day later, Warner Bros. announced that Corenswet and Brosnahan had secured the lead roles. Gunn confirmed the news on Twitter, expressing his confidence in their talent and character.
“Superman: Legacy” is set to be released on July 11, 2025.
