Gary Barlow discloses that he abstained from eating hamburgers for more than a decade

In a recent appearance on the BBC’s Saturday Kitchen, Gary Barlow, the 52-year-old Take That star, revealed that he has abstained from eating hamburgers for over a decade due to his strong sense of discipline, despite considering them his ultimate indulgence. Despite his love for the sandwich, Barlow has managed to resist the temptation for over 14 years. During the show, Barlow confessed, “The last time I had a hamburger was in 2009. I don’t eat them often, but I absolutely love them. It’s a real treat for me.” When asked about his decision to avoid hamburgers, Barlow admitted that he strives to maintain a high level of discipline in his life.

Speaking to Olly Smith, a wine expert on the show, Barlow explained, “We have regular discussions about health and fitness, and we often challenge each other.” For Barlow, an ideal hamburger consists of a delicious beef patty, served on a great bun, accompanied by shoestring fries, and topped with condiments like mayonnaise, ketchup, lightly pan-fried red onions, and cheese. The mere thought of such a heavenly combination clearly demonstrates Barlow’s immense self-control.

In contrast, Barlow considers haggis to be his food “hell.” Despite his disclaimer that his aversion to haggis is not a slight on Scotland or its people, Barlow shared, “I hate haggis. It’s not a pleasant experience for me. The taste lingers for weeks after I eat it.” It is evident that Barlow’s taste buds do not share the same enthusiasm for haggis as his fans do.

Last month, Barlow, along with his Take That bandmates Howard Donald and Mark Owen, attended the premiere of their jukebox film, Greatest Days, in Leicester Square. The trio looked stylish and suave as they walked the purple carpet at the Odeon cinema before delighting their fans with a thrilling performance. Barlow donned a white blazer and matching trousers, paired with a white top, exuding an effortlessly chic look. Meanwhile, Howard chose a scoop neck T-shirt and vibrant green trousers, completing the trio’s fashionable ensemble.

Greatest Days, set to be released on June 16, follows the journey of five best friends who experience the night of their lives attending a concert by their favorite boy band. Twenty-five years later, the friends reunite for a final extraordinary show, reigniting their friendship and discovering that their greatest days might still lie ahead. Take That expressed their excitement about the film, stating, “We’re thrilled to be collaborating with such a talented and creative team on this project, and we couldn’t be happier with the incredible cast involved!”
