A 28-year-old man from Fullerton tragically lost his life in a fatal accident. The incident occurred on Friday around 9 p.m. near the intersection of Richman Avenue and Orangethorpe Avenue, as reported by the Fullerton Police Department.
According to authorities, the collision involved a speeding white 2006 Honda Civic and a grey 2016 Nissan Pathfinder. Both vehicles sustained significant front-end damage.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the Honda Civic was traveling east on Orangethorpe, approaching Richman, at an excessively high speed. In an attempt to avoid rear-ending a slower vehicle ahead, the Civic veered into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with the Pathfinder.
The driver of the Honda Civic was rushed to a trauma center where he was sadly pronounced dead. The police are currently withholding his identity until his next of kin has been notified.
The 44-year-old driver of the Nissan Pathfinder and his 8-year-old female passenger sustained minor injuries in the accident.
