Despite only catching three passes for 33 yards, with an 18-yarder being his longest reception, it was the fourth target that left Moreau feeling disheartened.
Last Thursday, during the Saints’ Crucial Catch game – an initiative aimed at fighting cancer through early detection and risk reduction – Moreau stood out as a remarkable spokesperson. Diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma during his free agency visit with the Saints last year, he has since achieved full remission.
All of the Saints players unanimously supported Moreau, affirming that the loss was not his fault. Running back Alvin Kamara emphasized that Moreau’s revival from a life-threatening illness was a far greater accomplishment than dropping a pass.
“Foster is a true professional,” stated Kamara. “I made sure to offer words of encouragement to him. There will be more opportunities for bigger and better plays out there. I reminded him about the blessings he has received despite this incomplete pass. It’s not a big deal.”
“Honestly, Fos missing that catch should not be a focal point for us,” Kamara continued. “It’s not about him dropping the ball. We shouldn’t have been in that situation to begin with. We’re all professionals, and anyone in that position should have made that catch.”
“But let me tell you about Fos – he genuinely cares about his team and does everything possible to uplift us. His dedication to winning and motivating others is unmatched. I have no worries whatsoever.”
