Although Tristan attempted to discourage her from this path, he ultimately paid for her flight to Romania in April 2022 as an act of “fun and adventure.”
The lawsuit explains that the woman stayed at the Tates’ estate for two days, during which they had sexual relations once again. Following their agreement, she moved to another nearby residence but still had access to the estate. According to the lawsuit, she remained in the country for only six days.
The Tates assert that the woman conspired with the British woman she met at the estate to defraud them of $200,000 by falsifying the need for the funds. When this scheme failed, the Florida woman enlisted her male friend from Virginia to contact the U.S. embassy, making false claims of human trafficking involving herself and the other woman.
This series of events eventually led Romanian officials to raid the residence where the woman was staying, launching the investigation into the Tates. The lawsuit contends that the woman’s movements were never restricted, she was not subjected to any form of control or threat, and she consistently possessed free will.
