The family of a 14-year-old girl made a shocking discovery on a recent flight from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Boston. They believe their daughter was targeted by a member of the crew who taped an iPhone to the back of a toilet seat. On American Airlines Flight 1441 on Sept. 2, a male crew member instructed the girl to use the first-class bathroom. He entered shortly before her, claiming the seat was broken but not to worry. After she left, he reentered the bathroom. It was then that the girl realized an iPhone was affixed to the back of the toilet seat, seemingly recording her. She quickly took a picture of it with her own phone before leaving.
The family released a statement expressing their shock and disturbance over the incident. Although they have not yet filed a lawsuit, their lawyer, Paul Llewellyn, confirmed that law enforcement officers met the plane at the gate and a flight attendant was escorted off by Massachusetts State Police. The investigation was later handed over to the FBI due to jurisdiction reasons. American Airlines has stated that they are cooperating fully with law enforcement and prioritizing the safety and security of their passengers.
