California-based electric vehicle (EV) company, Fisker, announced their plans to harness Tesla’s extensive charging network by 2025. This collaboration allows Fisker owners to access the 12,000 Tesla charging stations currently available in North America. Fisker’s future EV models will be equipped with the necessary adapter to utilize Tesla’s charging infrastructure. General Motors and Ford have also partnered with Tesla to incorporate North American Charging Standard (NACS) connectors in their electric vehicle lineup starting from 2025. Mercedes-Benz has joined the initiative as well, aiming to enhance the EV experience for their customers. Tesla’s NACS charging network, known for its reliability and efficiency, is regarded as the leading option in the North American market. In response to the increasing demand for electric vehicles, major automakers including BMW and Chrysler-Stellantis have plans to establish a nationwide network of 30,000 electric vehicle charging stations by 2030. To support the estimated 30 million electric vehicles on the road by 2030, it is projected that 182,000 fast chargers will be required according to the National Renewable Energy Laboratory. The dominance of electric vehicles in the automotive market is expected to exceed 50% in the next seven years.
