Finding My Perfect Match: Our Unconventional Encounter in the Endless Women’s Loo Queue

In 2002, Sheema was enjoying the single life, working for the Royal Mail and sharing a flat with her best friend in Camberwell, South London. One day in October, after a gym session, she met a friend for a drink and was convinced to join her and her boyfriend for a night out. Despite being in her gym kit, Sheema agreed and they ended up at a pub near Clapham Common. While waiting in a long queue for the women’s restroom, Sheema decided to use the nearby men’s restroom to save time. As she was being ushered out by a bouncer, she encountered Alfred. He immediately caught her attention with his remark that “There are no rules!” They spent the rest of the evening chatting and later shared a kiss.

Alfred, a painter and decorator living in London, was instantly drawn to Sheema. They bonded over conversations about philosophy and travel, and Alfred was impressed by her resourcefulness in using her BlackBerry phone to order a pizza. Their relationship blossomed quickly, and within a month, Sheema had moved into Alfred’s flat in Oval.

In 2005, they briefly broke up as they were unsure about marriage. However, they realized that they couldn’t stay apart and decided to tie the knot. They moved to Chingford in 2007 and got married in Cape Town the following year, considering it a beautiful location for their wedding since Sheema is Zimbabwean and Alfred is Albanian. They had their families and friends from both countries present to celebrate their special day.

The couple started trying for children but faced challenges with conception. After undergoing IVF treatment, they were blessed with their son Massimo in 2010, followed by Xander in 2012 and Marco in 2014. Massimo was diagnosed with cerebral palsy, and Alfred devoted himself to caring for him in his first year. Sheema was grateful for Alfred’s support during this overwhelming time. Later, Xander was diagnosed with ADHD, posing another challenge for the family. Sheema and Alfred worked together to advocate for their son, and he is now in a good place.

Alfred describes Sheema as fiery, passionate, and caring. They share the same goals and have a strong connection. Sheema believes that Alfred is not only intellectually stimulating but also a genuinely good person. Seeing him as a great father to their boys warms her heart.

The couple’s love story is a testament to their enduring connection and the challenges they have faced together.
